Hospice PhilosophyYou matter until the very last moments of your life. You deserve to live comfortably, and with passion, but most of all you deserve to live. Having a terminal illness does not mean that your life is over. It simply means that you have a better idea than most people of when you are going to die. Hospice is an organization that helps you, through palliative care, in making the most of life. We do all that we can to improve the quality of life for everyone we touch, and because we deal with people, and people have emotional, intellectual, social and physical needs. We believe that you should not only be able to die peacefully, and in comfort, we believe that you should be able to live until you die.
What is palliative care?Palliative care is the treatment of the symptoms of an illness, not of the cause. This means that the care we provide, while not curing a disease, helps to alleviate the symptoms that might otherwise disable our patients. While Hospice cannot provide life prolonging treatment, palliative care allows our patients to live as normally as possible. |
